At first, it may be difficult when your foster pet is rehomed, but when you realize the positive impact that you've made on this pet's quality of life, as well as on his or her preparation for finding and staying in a forever home, you should feel pride. As well, we check in with the pet's new home several times in the first few months, so you can rest assured that your pet is taken care of. 

OPIN and our other foster volunteers are here for you. Some of our volunteers are on their first pet, others have been fostering for years. We're here to support you not just with the care of the foster pet, but with the emotional experience as well.
